DIY Spice Blends
Ras El Hanout (Moroccan)
Ingredients:
2 tsp ground cumin
2 tsp ground ginger
2 tsp ground coriander
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp ground turmeric
1 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp ground allspice
1/2 tsp ground cloves
Instructions:
Mix all the ground spices together in a bowl.
Store in an airtight container.
Uses:
Ras El Hanout is great for flavoring tagines, couscous, and roasted vegetables.
Cajun Seasoning (American)
Ingredients:
2 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp dried oregano
1 tbsp dried thyme
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp white pepper
Instructions:
Combine all the spices in a bowl and mix well.
Store in an airtight container.

Italian Seasoning (Italian)
Ingredients:
1 tbsp dried basil
1 tbsp dried oregano
1 tbsp dried rosemary
1 tbsp dried thyme
1 tbsp dried marjoram
1 tbsp dried sage

Combine all the dried herbs in a bowl and mix well.
Store in an airtight container.
Uses:

Herbes de Provence (French)
Ingredients:
2 tbsp dried thyme
2 tbsp dried rosemary
2 tbsp dried savory
2 tbsp dried marjoram
1 tbsp dried oregano
1 tbsp dried basil
1 tbsp dried lavender (optional)

Mix all the dried herbs together in a bowl.
Store in an airtight container.
